**Disclaimer: I am writing this after getting very little sleep the past several days on a couch in the hospital. My format and grammar may be off…but sometimes in life that happens.**
I always thought that I could be a writer. I had a very active imagination when I was growing up, probably stemming from my love of reading. I loved writing short stories, essays, scripts, and even beginnings of a couple of different novels. However, several things held me back from chasing this dream: fear of letting anyone read my work,laziness, and my ever changing mind of what to write. Two years ago I signed up for this WordPress site, with the hopes of convincing myself to start writing again. Tonight, I finally take that step.
As you can see, I’ve titled this blog “Our Tale.” Over the next few weeks I will be writing and posting about the love of my life, our family, and the horrible battle we are currently fighting against cancer. I invite you to come along on this journey, to learn about the amazing people in my life, to fall in love with my family as I have, and perhaps encourage and help us in our battle. Along the way I may also randomly post a short story or two that I wrote, depending on my mood.
I haven’t taken a writing class in 10 years, so my formatting and grammar will probably take a few entries to get back to “proper” form. I also don’t get a lot of sleep these days, which will add to that. Just think of it as a literary adventure to greatness!
I have to figure out how to end each entry, so for now I’ll use a quote from an old friend…
